To cut a long story short; I’ve met Jeanne at the nuclear power plant of Tihange when we were revamping the old steam turbines. She was one of the interpreters who watched our back when we weren’t accurate enough while expressing ourselves in Molière’s mother’s tongue. And before I knew, I found myself sweating my ass off at Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. And Valenciennes, and Lille, cause the wedding was … around places .

To take pictures from someone familiar, acquaintances or friends actually means double stress. Cause when it all goes wrong, or at least not as you ‘ve intended and the result is merely worth any penny, you will feel as if you’ve let them down after they had their hopes up high, but more; you will carry ‘the shame’ for quite a long time since you will keep encounter them on different occasions.
Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating, but still, I had this feeling the whole day untill I…let’s say “had a few drinks”
Off course I had a blast also, the preparation was flawless and Jeanne was completely stressless, reassuring and adorable as ever. I’ve met the other interpreters Christine and Perrine once again. Tihange revisited.

Needless to say; a friends wedding, I would rather enjoy it while I can sit down with a nice South African Pinot Noir or Chardonnay in front of me, and to be able to drink it while not having to worry about camera settings.

All that rest now is the most important stuff; the pictures. There wasn’t a service at a church and Roland, the groom only got the first look of his darling bride at the town hall.
